I'm fairly new here to the DP forums but not new to webhosting. This week I will be launching my new proxy webhosting service to the DP members. I have a question for all the proxy site webmasters here. What do you look for in a proxy host? Tell me what you want. Give me some numbers too. Bandwidth, space, addons, parked domains, package contents and prices. Let me see what your needs are and your wants are. Please, don't waste my time and yours by saying that you're looking for UNLIMITED hosting for $10/Year. That isn't going to happen....lol So please, take a second and tell me what you want. Thanks for your time Eddie
Hmmm as a 4 years proxy webmaster i would need at least 100 gig monthly bdw max 500 mg space and a fast server to handle all huge traffics for a reasonable price and a great supprt see im now paying $20 a month to a proxy hoster not really good BDW etc but fast and help full support ( my opinion if you need to know)
I run a few proxy sites and I'd like at least 100-200gb bandwidth and being able to add as many domains as I wanted, cpanel is a plus but I'm fine with directadmin. Having fast servers and good support is a must of course and minimum to no downtime. $25 / month is what i'd pay for something like that.
Need some more input here all your proxy webmasters. Let me create the packages that YOU, the user, needs and wants. I've got it all set up and ready to go in a couple days....just want to fine tune it to make all the users happy. What do you look for in a proxy host? Thanks Eddie
well im pretty new in this proxy. though i have few sites been 3 months. what i look for is, bandwitdh between 150 Gb to 200 GB of course Fast server with good uptime. and minimum 5 addon domain. price could be $10 to $15 / month. hope you get some idea
Uptime is number one. Speed number two. Bandwith 500Gb to 1 Tb. Unlimited addon domains. cPanel. Can pay $30 or more a month.
Excellent login. Post a few more guys. I'll check this thread tomorrow after work....ARGH Thanks for your time everyone Eddie
Pretty sure I'm going to launch my proxy hosting site this evening. I appreciate your comments so far. Keep them coming. Thanks for your help Eddie
I strongly agree with Logins above post. Server specs are important too, along with how many users. PM me once you've set up your plans! otherwise ill forget about this thread
Thanks for the input everybody. I used to run a hosting service but sold it shortly after our daughter was born....she's a handful As for server specs, that'll be on the site. Thanks for the help. Anyone else? Eddie
500GB Bandwidth, 1GB space, stability has to be one of the most important things though. If someone comes to your proxy one day and its down or slow as hell they'll find a new one and not come back. cPanel, minimum 10 addon domains, the option to buy sensibly priced chunks of bandwidth in lets say 50gb chunks if you find your running over budget Honest non greedy server providers that prefer to have a small profit per each server and keep their customers happy and loyal rather than greedy non brainer fly by nights that squeeze as many customers in per server even though its making the hosting experience feel as if its hosted on a ZX81.
Thanks for the input Prolink. Lots of good information here and I appreciate it. The packages are built and the site is ready to go. I will release it tomorrow here in the forum. It's too late tonight because if some of you want an account, I want to be awake to create it. Please do give me some more ideas though folks. I can make changes pretty quick..lol Thanks Eddie
