I have a few wordpress and after i upgraded half of them to 2.7, there is a significant drop for traffic from google on 24th, about 70%. I have also upgraded XML Sitemap Generator to the latest version. Is anyone else having the same problem? Or simple everyone enjoying Chirstmas eve and not surfing internet? But this doesnt't make sense because the other half of wordpress that i haven't upgraded showing about the same amount of traffic. Any suggestion?
No there is no any changing in ranking on my wordpress installed websites. Yes I have noticed of the changes of instances and the backlinks of my websites has been increased.
I would check the template and sitemap first. Then the time of page loading. I use oyoy.eu for server checking.
I compared the sitemap generated by both wordpress (upgraded and not upgraded) seems like there is no differences. regarding the template, i don see any difference as well.
I don't see any such drops in my WP blogs. This might be just a coincidence with 2.7 updates. See if your SERPs have gone down. Holiday season can also contribute to increased/decreased traffic (depending on niche).
jitendraag, you are right. my index still there but the serp hsa been drop. same keyword that use to be my top post now doens't show on google first page anymore :| may i know what can i do and what should i do now? i'm worrying
Interesting findings. But i dont see my sites are affected. Perhaps need to take few days observations.
My websites are well ranked even after my latest upgrade to 2.7, so everything is fine on my side, may be there is some other reason for you.
CMS is a backend interface. your blog with all the content still remains the same with excatly same linking structure. you should not experience any SERP drop from wordpress upgrade. i think its more of a coincidence
