    I just found this:

    http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/how-to-report-paid-links/

    How to report paid links

    April 14, 2007 @ 3:18 pm · Filed under Google/SEO
One thing I heard at SES London was that people wanted a way to report paid links specifically. I’d like to get a few paid link reports anyway

Doesn't look good for links sales..

So does that mean services like text-link-ads, PayPerPost, and ReviewMe are all going to get screwed over?

    Doubt it for some reason.

    Well no Aron, BUT...

IF you look what I highlighted in RED BELOW.

You will see that there is NOW a "report links" so if someone doesn't like you or simply wants to get you and then they "report you" and according to Matt, They will "
That will be enough for Google to start testing out some new techniques we’ve got — thanks!"

BY TESTING , I don't think they will be helping you increase rank...More like banning, devaluing you....IMO

My point (which I didnt cleary state) is that there is no way to determine between selling links for PR/SEO purposes and for advertising. I highly doubt all the sites out there that sell advertising space (yahoo) would get reported and they would do something about it.

I just think they should not even go this route because it will be very difficult and ALWAYS human determined. They wont be able to create an algorythm that will determine sold text links vs other ones so they are opening themself up for a huge mess if they try.

Wow, sounds like another move on Google's part to flex the big muscle. Sure will hurt a lot of sites trying to build PR.

Seems to me it would be hard to decide what is a legit link sale and one just for SEO. Oh well, guess since they are the big dog, they can make all the rules.

I agree, But to stay on some topic

I think "listing" your urls that you are selling or by links for HERE on dp is simply just a bad idea now

Because Once you say "links for sale on"...your done

So do you think the 'link sales' forum should be re-branded to something along the lines of 'advertising links' or 'marketing links'?

Is it just me or are the 'establishment' worried about the others? I mean, long established SEO techniques now seem to be frowned upon.

As others appear to understand the nuances of the current trends in SEO techniques, the people who have benefited in the past from the same techniques seem to change the goal posts and stay one step ahead and therefore $$$ ahead.

Or am I just being cyncal?

Paid links > Directories > Backlinks > PR

    PR from advertising

    advertising? =adwords

adwords? = hmm deosnt google own it :D

    want me to go deeper?

    sites/content = googles wealth/adsense/adwords wealth - how? webmasters...

    how do webmasters get paid?

adsense? not much maybe 0.23$ per month LOL

paid links? 20$/month (made me happy)
