Atomic/Nuclear history subjects bad?

    Hey guys,

    Need some guidance here, please.

In a fit of design inspiration, I began working on a site related to atomic bomb testing/coldwar history stuff (Trinity, etc.), simply because I've always been fascinated with the subject, and thought it might be rewarding to do a site devoted to it. But while I do happen to be passionate about the subject matter, I still planned to monetize the resultant site with Adsense.

I wasn't planning a site focusing on "war" itself, and fallout casualties and such (NO focus on "human suffering" and death), but more about the science and awesome beauty and power behind the technology as a force of raw nature [harnessed by man]. Nuclear test footage images and videos and such. Things like that.

So my intentions are in the right place, but when I stopped and started thinking about the Adsense TOS, I suddenly realized that, even though it makes no sense to me that serious science and technology (not to mention historical) sites like this would be deemed "bad" by Google, that this, indeed, probably is completely off-limits according to the TOS (the parts about death and human suffering, etc.)! That no matter how artistically, respectfully, responsibly, and maturely it's handled, it probably wouldn't get served any ads.

Wondering, I even went to the Adsense Sandbox and typed in all the typical descriptive words I'd be using; nuclear, atomic, etc., and sure enough, it came up empty. No Adsense for you! Just doesn't make sense, but, I wanted to at least run it by the experts here to get this coroborated before I give up the idea (for now anyway) and move on to more Adsense-friendly ones.

And yes, I know there are alternatives to Google, but the overall consensus always seems to wind up right back at Google--that it's the most effective service and pays best in general. So I'm stuck on that idea. Hehe.

Sorry this is so long! Thanks in advance for any guidance.

    Keith

I have a site in a related niche' -- Nuclear Now.

CTR is reasonably good. CPC is low, but not unacceptably so.

Page impressions are horrible, but that could be related to the fact that my site sucks. :D

I just added Google AdLinks to the site so you can see what keywords you might want to target.

Thanks so much, Guys! I wonder why the sandbox was returning zero results for "atomic", "nuclear", and such? That's what really got me to thinking that Google probably wouldn't feed ads to it. But maybe I just don't completely understand how that thing works. I thought if you typed in various words or phrases and it gave you no results, then that meant no ads would be served.

I do know that I surely can't do a site about the majesty and power of atomic blasts, without saying "atomic", "atomic bomb", "atomic test", "nuclear test", "5-ton detonation", etc., a lot on the site (and those words and phrases seem to return zero ads on quick inspection). At any rate, I just hope that won't be a problem. Of course, if they ever actually looked at it they'd see the correct angle I'm going for with it.

Anyway, thanks again! Maybe I'll post the link for you to take a look at before I place the Adsense, and get your final opinions then. :)
