Athlon vs Sempron

I just got an email that the computer i have ordered the other day might be two weeks late because they have run out of Athlons. Instead they can use Sempron and send it the next day.

So which processor is quicker/more reliable?

    Sempron 3400+ 64Bit and 754pin

    or

    Athlon 3200+ 64Bit and 754pin

Did anyone have any experience with these?

    Ta!

Depends on what you will use it for.

Webmarketing don't ask "that" much from a computer ;)

I've been looking into this very same issue aswell, it appears as though the Sempron is the beefed down version of the Athlon, similar to the Celeron with Intel chips.

Semprons are to celerons as Athlons are to Pentiums. Simply said, Athlons will out-perform Semprons very easily and I highly recommend going for Athlon if that's all you can afford.

Sempron is also cheaper. So make sure if you get it they lower the price and not charge you for the price of an Athlon.

I'd go for Athlon. It's better than the first one.
