I'm an Atheist. We know more about religion because we actually STUDY IT. Not only do we study it, we do so with an open mind, as opposed to believers who follow it just because they were told to without being open to anything else. Believers defy all logic when it comes to religion. They disregard anything that points to there being no "god." Us Atheists read into religion and come to the conclusion that it makes no sense. We basically figure out that it's all bullshit.

Religion = a tool that's was used to control the black slaves and poor people. Nothing more, nothing less.

I missed those question marks, my bad. Hopfully you won't take this and make a conclusion that all people that defend religion don't understand the meaning of question marks then start a clan to go after them all.

Walking around and pointing fingers against complete strangers, judging them, and trying to bring them down sounds like someone who is not self satisfied.
I suppose some Atheists study about it with an open mind, but typically I would think that most Atheists don't actually study it, they more or less just try to find some possible way to twist something said in it and use it against others.

Highly Debatable in all aspects. If you read the bible in full then you would not say that.

Free spirited, true religion was the victim of the crucification of Jesus and was replaced by the philosophies of the crucifiers and continues to this day - until the universal betrayal of religious freedom (Jesus) is brought to justice the proceeding religions will all remain false, as is born out by history.

True believers must first reconcile their abandonment to oppression before discovering the true religion, is correct.

I didn't saw this part of your intelligent when you 1st posted - blame the ad for that one . But given the fact that you're a lawyer that advertises on the general chat section I believe that you are right . By following your impeccable way of thinking we can also deduce that your cerebral cortex is made from mush .

I believe this as atheists spend time to take a look at religion and after making inferences find that there are flaws (personal view). I am no atheist but I have yet to decide a religion, I believe everyone has the right for their own beliefs.

No i wont, because people who don't understand question marks don't have a book detailing everything that they all claim to believe. The religious do though.

Self satisfaction isn't something i am a fan of, it hinders improvement. I am happy though. And guess what, i don't need stories about magical lands, supernatural theme parks that dead relatives go to or an invisible sky daddies looking after me. I understand the world, how it works and i am not frightened of it. Something i think you would enjoy, once you muster the courage, intellectual and physical, to let go of your little comfort blanket and not buy in to threats of eternal torture.

Having an open mind doesn't mean believing everything you are told, that's called being gullible. Having an open mind means being accepting of the evidence, whichever way it point. Obviously if you done that you would end up rejecting your funny little jewish zombie death cult on the grounds that it makes no sense at all, but for the rest of us the trust is more important than the propagation of a lie we were once convinced of.

Lacey has nothing to say in defence of her silly little beliefs so she's resorting to attacking athiests for criticising her toothfairy.

BINGO!!! Finally. I was beginning to think I'm the only one around here to thinks this.
Maybe you should write that down for your next Atheist meeting. "anyone who miss spells or doesn't read a question mark should be humiliated and burned alive".
Oh, but you do need God(that's right, but be frightened to say the word) and you do need heaven because who would you mock if He didn't exist? Where would your motivation in life be?
You random mocking and insulting of religion shows that you are desperate for attention like a fat, stupid, ugly 12yr old bully in a school yard. You are afraid.
Well I have courage all of this bullcrap you are saying I don't have but honestly I'm not afraid of the threat of eternal torture. Actually there is no threat of eternal torture. This is another one of your skinhead religion theories that you made up in your head.

See, I would join you, its tempting, but I'm not into being a unhappy little twerp who runs around my whole life mocking, mouthing off, and insulting everyone until I'm dead. It just don't see the good side of your "so called intellectual and logic life".:)

    Duh.
Reject something you don't understand straight away. It doesn't work that way. I know your a big science guy stox, so don't bother with "I accept evidence" crap. A scientist takes a 1" inch tooth of a dinosaur and describes it as a new species and releases the whole body structure and head of the dinosaur and you are gullible to just drink it down. A scientist is one who fries 4 million rats and says that he's been trying to cure cancer since the 80's and people like you drink it in and think its important what this idiot was doing. A person like you listens to someone say some ridiculous theory, then you find out what school they went to and how high in the ranks they are and if it be high you be believing.
There is more to stuff than evidence. This is something that you will never understand about religion and that's why you cannot understand it. Let it go, you don't know anything about the bible.
An example of harassment and mocking. A common thing the common Atheist do. They tell you that your wrong and stupid but they run around mocking and mouthing off people all day. Wow, and you won't why people tend to avoid you.

Atheists attack religion and god, and Believers attack atheists personally. I can't see how any normal person will find it hard to decide which one is worse - Someone attacking something which they believe is fictual, and someone attacking a fellow human being for what they believe in private.

    What stox said:
    1) He's happy in his life without religion
    2) He doesn't need someone he doesn't believe in looking after him to make him feel safe
    3) He doesn't need threats of eternal torture to make him believe in something. - Which might not be the case with you, but it is with a lot of believers
    What you said:
    1) He needs good.
    2) He needs heaven
    3) He has no motivation in life
    4) He's like a fat, stupid, ugly, 12 year old bully. And if you don't think I'm attacking you or your god personally by asking this, Where does fat and ugly come in from? You have something against fat and ugly people, I believe. Just shows your mental immaturity
    5) He's afraid - Of what, might I add?
    6) Threats of eternal torture is a skinhead(here you insulted him personally again) theory he made up, while eternal torture is mentioned in some religions. http://www.maybenow.com/Do-Jews-believe-in-hell-eternal-torture-if-you-are-not-a-Jew--q7422401
This just goes on to prove the point that Atheists actually study a religion and then decide on their basis for believing or not believe in something, and not just believe in it because their parents do and because it's written in some Holy book.
    7) All atheists are unhappy little twerps who run around their whole life mocking, mouthing off, and insulting everyone till they're dead.
You remind me of the old man in this picture:

Sigh. You obviously fail to grasp the concept of Atheism. Instead of a priest/Rabbi/<Insert other religious heads here> or a book telling them how to live their life, they actually see the world and decide for themselves what they want to believe in.
Isn't that exactly what you're doing with science? You don't understand how they can find the distance, luminosity, and other characteristics of a star so you rejected it straight away.

Obviously, you've never seen a full dinosaur skeleton. As for a new species, every dinosaur has different sized and shaped teeth, depending on what they ate for survival, so if it doesn't match with any of the existing ones discovered so far, it'll obviously be a new species. And they provide sufficient explanation for that, which people have a choice to believe in or not, quite unlike religion, which provides no evidence for the existence of God and excepts people to believe it or suffer eternal damnation. Let me quote you once again, "Reject something you don't understand straight away."
As for Atheists being gullible, if they actually were, they would've given in under religious pressure and started believing in God. Your argument is stupid and invalid.

Yes, I believe they should experiment on you. Or other human beings. Do you have any idea why do they even use rats for animal testing? On a sidenote, all the makeup you're wearing in your avatar, which you still might or might not use, is also tested on animals for adverse effects.
And yes, finding a cure for cancer isn't important enough. After all, who cares for millions of lifes lost(exceeding 5 million in 2007 alone)? Why should they kill petty animals which are of no use(Talking exclusively about rats here), to try and find a cure for something which causes over 10% of human deaths every year?
A person like you reads about something mystical in a book, reads about all the miracles he's performed, can't understand how stars are formed, can't grasp the concept of how someone can declare a new species because of a tooth, reads about miracles in the newspaper or on the net, and believes they're going to heaven, in which they have no reason to believe if it even exists or not, plainly because they believe in something. If it's dumb and has no explanation, you'll believe in it.

Actually, for the first time, I seriously agree with helvetti and have lost all of the little respect I had for you and your beliefs.
As for harrassment and mocking and mouthing off people, look at your own words first, then try and point at someone else. Filthy hypocrites like you make me sick enough to spend an hour typing all of this with one hand.

Religions teach people that they have no value, that only god has value. Therefore, attacking a truly religious person means nothing to them. If you kill them, they only get to meet god sooner. On the other hand, god means everything to them, so attacking god is unimaginable to them. They must do everything in their power to prevent any offense against god, because it is only god that really matters. Humans are simply god's pets, his property, his toys.

A truly religious person wouldn't attack Atheists for not believing in God either. Just religious people, however, want them to atleast believe in a god, whether it's the same as theirs or not. I however, find the idea of attacking a person simply because of their beliefs ridiculous, so if I have a choice between attacking something which we have different beliefs about, or attacking them personally, I'd choose the former.
