Atheists: how many bad reputation points did you receive?

Well at least your opinion based reps are coming from other users. I personally found the infraction disturbing. I have no idea how anyone could interpret the idea of "Praying to the ceramic god(Allah)" or sitting on it while jerkin one a load to the idea of Nancy Pelosi in latex, a personal attack. It certainly can't be any more offensive to the belief systems of Muslims than practically any of stOx's postings about Christians. Smells like a double standard to me.

 

This forum is notoriously bias man.

 

Haha, I got an infraction once for calling this place IndiaPoint. Of course referencing the true fact that it's no longer a majority American board anymore and it's filled with often barely legible English.

The place used to be a well respected source for webmaster information. Real SEOs used to hang here and give out expert advice. Now, as a place for webmaster information, it's become kind of a running joke. I come here to buy websites cheap off unsuspecting noobs, hire cheap labor, and antagonize republicans and fundamentalist religious believers.

I use this pseudo since a few months, but I've been banned with a previous pseudo and had to wait 2 months, then I opened a new one instead of continue using the old one. And I've been banned for commenting on some stupid religion. Because for me religion is stupid. But it seems we can't say that because religious users report you each and every time and then the mods act on you and send you infractions.

 

@James: I think there is a big difference between saying, "Followers of Religion XYZ are complete idiots, who obviously havent figured out, blah blah b lah blah" and saying, "I just shit on Allah's face". One is calling a group of people stupid, while the other, though disrespectful to the object of someone's obeisance, is is just creative story telling that does not insult the belief system on the whole. I know the difference seems subtle, but if Allah is really insulted, perhaps he should give me the infraction. Why does he need the mod's to do it?

 

Maybe there's a difference, but when they say "those who don't believe in God go to hell" is their version of me saying "Religion is for dummies". That's it, none should be punished.
Look in sitepoint forum there's no religion&politics forum, because they don't like flame.
On digital point the forums are present because they accept that insults and flame wars could happen, and now they ban users because they insult and flame, but if they really don't want that those categories should not exist because it is not possible to have one and no the other, this is because of the topic and the human nature.
I'm not for deleting the categories, but I'm against banning users when they express their real opinion without auto-censuring themselves.

 

Well there are more than the colors black and white you know. In fact there are all manor of shades in between. Your argument is like saying its OK for Mike Tyson to bite someone's ear because boxing is a violent sport. There are rules, and they need to be respected, whatever they are. I just don't like getting infractions for something that isn't a posted rule. If they say don't be irreverent of other people's deities or heroes or you will receive an infraction, I can live with that. If they say you you must have pornography on the television while posting, I can live with that. If they say you cant wipe your ass for a week before creating your first post, I can live with that.

I guess what I'm saying is, they just need to add, "While it is OK to be irreverent of any figure, political, biblical, real or imagined, it is not OK to make any irreverent comments about Allah for fear of insulting the Muslims who are a sensitive bunch that tend to whine a lot. That means no referring to Allah as a toilet, describing sexual acts with Allah, or talking about Allah being your bitch." If I knew such a rule existed, I'd of course comply, because I'm a generally rule abiding fellow.

Edit: I'd like to add that if Allah really does exist, I would be forgiven for any such references because he is the forgiving sort. If he doesn't exist, this type of tom-foolery has no more significance than being irreverent of the Easter Bunny or Santa Clause, whom I've slept with.

I got threatened with an infraction for a PM I had with a mod. I asked where DP was hosted. (REceiged a threat of an infraction) I responded with "well, a simple whois shows its located in the US. And yet, you still feel the need to allow scammers and people that commit fraud daily...makes a lot of sense. Screw US law when you have the ...." Dont want to finish the rest as I may receive an infraction for making the muslims and people from that one country that you can outsource tech support for a penny to.

Went back and did a review of all my posts from the 7th and the 6th. No spam, but quite a few not so friendly words for Muslim extremists. Maybe it was the comparison of Al Queda "Freedom Fighters" to cockroaches? I actually sent off a PM to the board admin on this one which, as you can imagine, was not met with a reply. It would be nice if the person who dinged me had the sack to put up the legitimate reason and a link to the post that did it . They probably knew how much pleasure it would bring me, so they didn't do it out of spite .

 

I've still got a clean record. Now, red reps, sure, but not infractions.
