according to hindu mythology, there is a saying it means - First comes the guru aka teacher, next comes mother, next father, and finally the god. It means god is present in all forms teacher one who teaches is the first to respect then mother, then father. You can refer guru to a school teacher r college lecturer r professor so on.. and not the ones who sell their knowledge. Guru gives/teaches knowledge but doesn't sell.
