definitely. I'll try a big bang for dummies lesson, although it may be above your competence. The big bang happened ~13.7 billion years ago. At this point, time was set in motion. Previous to this, there was no time. However, there were certain quantum phenomena, but describing these is above the plane of english, my understanding, and certainly some blind religious person's understanding. Our science, our discoveries... Our computer, too. Give it back!
Still beating that tired old strawman argument pong? Are you trying to be the new peanut butter guy? Misrepresent someones views and then mock them, How so very "christian". What would jesus lie about?
How does God, the intelligent designer, just come about? What came before the intelligent designer? Your explanation is just as absurd as mine.
Lets pop in a Hindu Muslim Sikh Jew Parsi Chinese folk religion believer Buddhist Jain Shinto And let the believers decide first which religion is correct and the winner debates with the atheist
Alberrt Einstein believed that God - or whatever your concept of "God" is - came from the exact same place that the Laws of Physics came from. "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction" is the same as "as ye sow, so shall ye reap". People start to go astray when they begin "projecting" their concept of authority on their concept of God. Now, individuals who grew up in happy, loving families project a happy, loving God - and it's no coincidence that these people lead happy lives. But people who are arbitrary and mean in their concept of authority project a mean and dictatorial God. Not a healthy concept. And many atheists tend to be angry, bitter, and distrusting of authority. If you are distrusting of authority, then you reject authority and therefore reject the concept that there is a God. BTW, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, the people in the USA who regard themselves as atheists are a mere 0.5%. "That deep emotional conviction of the presence of a superior reasoning power, which is revealed in the incomprehensible universe, forms my idea of God. " -Albert Einstein "Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind." - Albert Einstein If Einstein believed in God, do atheists think they are smarter than Einstein?
Einstein's god was a poetic god. His "god" was physics, Not an actual conscious entity. He stated many times that he didn't believe in an actual god and thought religion was appalling. But don't let reality get in the way of you spreading lies about a dead man.... let me guess, you're "christian"? nonsense. People are angry and bitter. Atheists are no better or worse than anyone else. And only 2% of the population qualify for mensa.... what's your point? That the more people do something the better it is? Your post was practically an example of how to make logical fallacies. We have the disingenuous quote mining, arguments from authority, argumentum ad populams and ad hominems... want to throw in a couple of strawmen and a red herring for good measure?
I'm sorry, but I do not believe that is true. Let me be more frank - unless you can show me a specific cite or quote, I believe that you completely made up what you wrote above. Shame on you for lying about Einstein. "I am a deeply religious man" - Albert Einstein, "The World as I See It" I have in my hands a copy of Einstein's book "The World as I See It". Einstein begins this book on Page 1 with: "What is the meaning of life, or of organic life altogether? To answer this question at all implies a religion". In this book, Einstein also explains that he does not believe in a type of God that is separate and apart, but in a God that manifests as a Conscious Universe (but not a God with an individual consciousness as in the Old Testament). He also believed that, regardless of whether you believed in God and religion, or not, that a man's ethical behavior should be based upon sympathy and social ties. Therefore, even if you did not believe in God or religion, you cannot use that absence as an excuse to lie or harm others. Einstein understood what he called the "religion of the naive man", but believed in a God that is a conscious universe which is much more vast, and more a part of us. Einstein believed that "cosmic religious feeling is the strongest and noblest incitement to scientific research" (page 37). I absolutely cannot find anything anywhere that even remotely suggests that Einstein thought that "religion was appalling". Shame on you. BTW, Thomas Jefferson wouldn't have any atheists in his cabinet. He felt that atheists were liars, because in the absence of a God, atheists felt no guilt about lying.
And the full quote which hasn't been deliberated and dishonestly mined and edited; "A knowledge of the existence of something we cannot penetrate, of the manifestations of the profoundest reason and the most radiant beauty, which are only accessible to our reason in their most elementary forms—it is this knowledge and this emotion that constitute the truly religious attitude; in this sense, and in this alone, I am a deeply religious man." In a letter to Eric Gutkind he said; "The word god is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honourable, but still primitive legends which are nevertheless pretty childish. No interpretation no matter how subtle can (for me) change this." I'm not saying Einstein was necessarily a strong atheist, He was at best a weak deist and more than likely agnostic. Nevertheless, He was, beyond a shadow of a doubt, not a theist Thomas Jefferson who said; "But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods or no God. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." "Question with boldness even the existence of a god; because if there be one he must approve of the homage of reason more than that of blindfolded fear." "If we did a good act merely from love of God and a belief that it is pleasing to Him, whence arises the morality of the Atheist? ...Their virtue, then, must have had some other foundation than the love of God." (clearly suggesting he believes atheists posses "morality" and "virtue") That also suggests that you believe you only do good because of a fear of punishment or hope of a reward. So i put it to you, what kind of morality is that if you are only prevented from wronging people because you think there is an invisible man looking over your shoulder? Do you have any evidence that Jefferson thought atheists were liars or are we expected to take your baseless claims about a dead mans opinions on face value again?
Are all you stupid religious people aware that you actively repress atheism? I got into a primitives vs atheis argument the other day, and was chastised strongly for it. Ignorant, repressive, hypocritical, contra-intelligence primitives.
Why do you think we should be able to answer everything? If you don't know something, it doesn't automatically equal to "god did it". There were times when people didn't know anything about science and believed the Sun was being raised by gods every day, the rain falling down from the sky only on the will of gods and spirits etc ... Some people have guts to admit - We don't know - Some people think they have answers for everything and it doesn't matter for them that the only "evidence" they have, is an ancient book talking about all mighty god who is unable to perform a simple miracle like creating a bible into everyone's home to convince us he exists.
I long for a thread with (conservative) christians that are able to argue rationally. But in most threads, it's just a mix of logical fallacies and intellectual dishonesty. Either they're not educated in matters of reasoning, or they're willfully disingenuous, avoiding important issues, misrepresenting other viewpoints and picking at details to change subject. I don't have much problems with more liberal christians, however, as they're usually aware that their religious beliefs is a personal and private matter, they accept science for everything else and they don't interpret the bible literally.
No, actually what you should "suppose" is just how stupid this shows all 'ats' to be. And you still can't answer those question??? Maybe you should think about getting a refund.
It's actually sad that someone would be at this level of intelligence and ignorance... (there seems to be a lot more of the latter.)
Sir, if I may laugh(at you) for a minute.lmao! Okay done laughing at you. To answer your question is to NOT really answer it, reason? Because we do not know(fully) on how the Universe was really formed, though the thinking Humans(or Scientist) will probably have a better answer in the future. But what we (they actually, the Scientist) currently have, is what you probably have read in a Science book explaining(in theory) on how it might have been created. Humans weren't born to know it all after birth, they proceed in time, learning and picking things here and there, often times it contradicts itself, then correct itself, they call it Trial and Error methods and that is a WE humans have been evolving all this time. You really expect an answer on how it was created? Read some books (not bible) and think to see what you might come up with. The mind, when it is allowed to explore, it is like the Universe itself. A never ending exploration. BTW, we don't know much about our own SEA FLOOR on this planet and you expect an answer to your question about the Universe? laughing again (@ you)
