Hi ... 36, when got my very own, but worked on mainframes and such for about 7 or 8 years, at that point. Fortran, mostly, and mainframe version of Word Star, which was exactly like the pc versions -- made the transition easy and was a great wp pgm.
I got my first when I was around 5 it was a toy one though a little laptop with all these school games lol
It was 22 years ago. I was 42. The computer was a Mac SE. Today I use an iMac desktop and a MacBook Pro laptop.
Just to share: First computer - 10 yrs old (can't remember exactly), Acorn Electron First IBM-compatible PC - 14 yrs old, generic brand (33Mhz AMD 386) First laptop - 18 yrs old, Toshiba Satelite Laptop (133Mhz Intel Pentium with MMX)

I was 10 years old when I got my Commodore 64. My first modern day computer was a K6 233 powered IBM (the first sub $1000 computer at $999) when I was 25.
My first one was a, wait for it... 1Kb (yep had to buy a 16KB add on for it) Sinclair computer that could just about add up. Cost me a months wages as well...lol!
