At Last Google Directory is Updating

I was thinking that they won't update it anymore but today I am seeing that they are updating it , when you search within the directory you can see the new results but if you browse the categories it is the same.
When searching it says
Modified by Google - ©2007 Google
google has made some improvements as I see.

 

Good to know. Will be interesting in seeing if ranks change and results are any better.

 

one of my site is accepted to dmoz today . i hope it will be inside the google dir.

 

I hope the directory category pages update soon. A search in the directory returns my site in the results and a link to the category page where I should be listed but when I click that link, the page has not been updated yet. My site was added to DMOZ sometime in the last couple of weeks I think.

 

UPDATE: I checked today and Google's cache of the DMOZ page has been updated (says Feb 3rd) and is now showing my listing. It's wishful thinking I imagine but is there any relationship between Google updating it's cache of DMOZ pages and updating its own Google Directory? I'm guessing no, but thought I'd ask anyway.

At least I'm one more step closer to my site having a backlink from DMOZ that Google hopefully will recognize.
