Hello, I am planning to buy an astronomical telescope from Ebay. I am just a hobbyist and my budget is not more than 80$. I see a lot of telescope brands but all have atleast one negative review.. Now I am really confused... All I need is a Telescope with aperture size anywhere between 70 and 90mm with focal ratio above 10.(Think this will be enough to see the other galaxies..) If you have an experience using astronomical telescopes,Please advice me.. Regards, Sandeep
I was in the same situation a few months ago... and after realizing that any telescope that I was willing to pay for wasn't worth buying, I settled on a pair of good tripod mounted 15 X 60 binoculars. Which also work for terrestrial viewing (they're not 'upside down' like most telescopes). Have a browse around the IceInSpace forum. There's a mind boggling amount of information there, they're friendly (they're Australian!), and they really really know their stuff. They stopped me from wasting money on a crappy telescope, and instead I've ended up with some inexpensive (yet fantastic) binoculars ... until I'm prepared to buy a telescope that is actually worth buying. http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/index.php
