astore indexing? forums.doctornuke.com?

I stumbled across a thread on forums.doctornuke dot com and I am a bit confused (I am still new to this forum and can't post a link to the thread otherwise I would). Its called 'official astore promotion thread' and everyone replies with their astore links. It seems like all of the astores on that thread have been indexed and many of them rank very well on google. And too the keywords are not that niche either. I also checked back links for some of those astores by searching the astore URL and found nothing besides this post.

I do see that this thread has a PR2 though. Could this be the reason its ranking well?

I tried posting my link there of course :), but it didn't let me without joining a $50 membership. :(

Anyone has any experience with this forum?
Does that thread do anything that a thread on any other popular forum will do in terms of getting indexed?

Of course astore can be index, for example search for "cheap nintendo ds lite" on Google and you will see astore site. Don't pay them $50. Do your own backlinks because PR 2 is useless if your niche is not related with the site.
