    Isn't an EMP pulse far more effective than nuking anymore? Ignite a nuke, say 30 miles above Iran and you can welcome the country into the dark ages for the foreseeable future. Which is where it wants to be anyways.

    probably not, actually. the initial radiation exposure at a 30 mile detonation would be far less than had it been done at ground level. The fall out may be an issue after the fact, but who knows. I dont think its been done before so its all hypothetical. EMP is not - its been tested and proven. The effect is there.
