BRAND new website - just went live last week : www.abcasphaltcompany.com Purpose of this website: A) Its for a friend who does asphalt paving and repair, he just wanted a site to put on his cards, and so that he could point out to potential customers that he's not some fly-by-night contractor. B) This is the first site that I've created from the begining with SEO in mind. I optimized the page file names, and image names, meta data, titles, H1, H2, H3 tags, link text, and of course body content of each page to focus on one of the top searched terms for this industry. - I want to see what it does in the serps. Keywords I'm trargeting: Asphalt, asphalt paving, asphalt sealer, asphalt repair, asphalt company Geo Specific Searches I'm targeting: Phoenix, Arizona URL: http://www.abcasphaltcompany.com Anchor text I will use for inbound links: Asphalt Paving Asphalt Sealer Asphalt Repair Asphalt Company Questions: -I want to rank for searches for these services in Phoenix, or at least Arizona should I include these words in my link text..? -Do I need to include a physical address to appear in the 'Local searches' that seem to be becoming more popular. - should I dedicate a page specifically to Phoenix asphalt service, or incorporate it MORE into every page. Comments - Suggestions - Opinions: This is the part where you toss be some clues on what to do next
To get Phoenix, AZ in I might make title of page "Asphalt Paving Phoenix, Arizona" with same <H1> tag and make description begin with the same four words. There may be a better way but I have had good luck doing it this way. Sounds like you are on right track with your ideas. Shannon
Nicely done. Just a couple of comments: * the footer takes more than one line (some items wrap around); you might want to decrease font size and add white-space: nowrap to the footer style; * menu items at the top of the page need to be made a bit more visible (e.g. try bold typeface or may be white color); it is also quite usual to remove text decoration from menu items; * It is better to use charset that is not OS-specific (i.e. yours is charset=windows-1252); It is better to use iso-8859-1 or utf-8; * you use formatting inconsistently - it's CSS for some elements and HTML (e.g. valign) for others; use CSS to format all elements - td's, p's, etc J.D.
Excellent thanks guys! This is exactly what I'm looking for. I tend to get focused on one thing at the neglect of another- helps to have an extra set of eyes (or 100 extra sets of eyes ) Anymore feedback from the rest of you...?
