If you are hosted on a Windows server you should not have problems.

If you are hosted on a Linux server running Apache ASP you will face some trouble.

Now it depends on your hosting, as in example, Netfirms run a dual platform in businnes and above accounts, meaning that you can run PHP over Linux and ASP over Windows inside the same account.

However as a way to get ASP working it's necessary turn on this feature from inside your control panel. Your hosting could require doing this.

Of course, eveyone is free to choose the programming language more suitable for his/her own needs. Myself have found great ASP functionality over PHP for certain scripts.
