I do not see in the code where there is a reference made to "b="? Is anyone else having this problem? Am I missing something totally obvious and being a silly n00b?
Protoss, I have the same question. I was just removed as well, and the link now show "ad_network.php file needs updating". I am not sure where I should look to change "b=" code. Any help would be great. Thanks, Nate
Dang, maybe it's not just me then. Hopefully someone will be able to figure this one out before too long; I have a 54k weight site down and out right now
Ok from a whopping 45 second comparison of the code from the ASP Classic and .vb files, the problem is that the code was using "s=" in the URL to pull ads from DP rather than "a=". I've made the change and attached the compiled DLL. Ya might just wanna clear out your ad_network_ads.txt file from all the "ad_network.php" poo, then log into your account and re-validate and it should be fine. Edit = I think I'll have to update the code on this tomorrow, as it's not clearing out the variables that get split when it displays...
Protoss, Thanks for the info, However I tried changing the s= to a= and cleaned out the ad_network_ads.txt file but when i try to validate I am getting "Ads not found on http // www. Site . com/" P.S. I was unable to open your attached file. Let me know if it works for you. Thanks again
Hmmm All ya gotta do is change it in the .vb file, recompile the dll from it, then drop it in your bin directory. If you don't have visual studio on your machine, then (assuming you have the .NET framework installed) use the vbc.exe file in your framework folder (may have to google to find all the specifics).
Protoss, I do not have either on my machine...I didnt do the orginal coding for the site...would it be possible for you to try and reattach the file? when I try to open it i get an error "Cannot open file: it does not appear to be a valid archive". Thanks
The latest working ASP.Net version is available here: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=7748
Thanks for the aspx version, I will be using it too. Now this might be a silly question but I just dont know where to get the ad_network_ads.txt file. Do I create it? Download it?
ad_network_ads.txt is an emplty plain text file. You can create it easily with Notepad. It is also included in the zip file. http://www.vlead.com/misc/coopad.htm
thanks, ic. I hope I didnt miss anything on the faq but I havent found info on the proper order of steps to have this setup. 1. Register... 2. enable ads on the site.... 3. validate...? I signed up for an account but I havent put the coding to work on the site yet. Will that be a problem? Oh also, anyone wants to volunteer a link to their sites where the ads is in place?
It worked!!! Thanks vlead for the instructions. One problem tho, I have "link" as ad_type but still it is coming out with text banners, do you know what I am doing wrong?
Just did, thank you so much!! I wanted to make my ad a text link so when I created my ad I selected the "Text" radio button under "ad type" but no matter what it comes out to be a text banner in the preview. Is it how it is supposed to show?
