I went over your doc, its kinda complicated, 3 days might be not enough and I think you need some software programming and not ASP/web based

    Hey VG,

I see you are doing pretty good with ASP. well not good, I'd say excellent.

Its not just a couple of lines of code, its almost a big software. Either you need to hire a freelancer (www.guru.com www.getafreelancer.com) or you need to tell your boss that you can't do it and see what will happen then

lets see dude, you come in, first post, big-ass project to finish for your boss who you lied to, who's going to turn around after you get the nice folks at DP to write it for you (which incedentally, we dont mind helping. look at my previous posts. we just don't want to wipe your ass for you) and then your boss turns around AFTER he hires you and realizes that you have no talent or skills (sorry, just quoting you) and fires you.

I'm sorry, where's the payout? why should i waste my time? have you so much as lifted a finger to try this? if you came here with a particular question about a project you were working on, i would have been more than happy to help you out. not only me, but many other fine programmers in this ASP forum could have given you some advice (and even written code samples) for free.

Seriously, think about it. we all have jobs and work for a living. my advice? get a book. Wrox, Oreillys, and Sams all have crash courses in asp available, get one of those, finish it, and then look at your project and see if you have any questions. we'll be more than happy to guide you in the right direction.

    good luck

    VG

yes, please ask specific questions, not to do the entire project for you; which seems like it would be a big time crunch to get this done - even for advanced developers! I always reference the Line I see when I join one of my favorite IRC Channel. We help solve questions, Not HOMEWORK!

In the words of Jiminy Cricket (I think): "A lie always comes back to haunt you."

Anyway, how'd the job go? It's been more than 3 days...

    I feel for you man..
Sounds like something I would do.:)
First thing I would do is tell my boss it will be more than three days.

The project does not really seem too big but the required documentation is a bit unneccesary.
From the sound of it your boss enjoys his authority and is quite full of himself.
The same can besaid for a couple of the more arrogant posts preceding mine.
I would start by searching google or yahoo for some info on asp forms input...
That should get you started. Do what you understand first. Then when you get to a sticking point come back and post a specific question. I think that once you break it down into smaller bites it will not seem quite as daunting.
