How have you got on with using headlines that ask quesions in the ad headline? For example: Need a Widget? Looking For a Widget? For one word exact match keywords im guessing its going to make sense to a searcher for many types or services and products.
yes, I have done exactly that and it works well. i think that if you do it right, it's catchy and stands out. the beauty of adwords is that you'll know the same day if it's working or not and it didn't really cost anything to try it.
I also agree. Using questions especially in the headline of your ads helps to draw people into a conversation with you, almost hypnotizing them into clicking your on your ad. It's especially good if you can follow up with a second question within your description that is open-ended, almost forcing them to click.
Hi noddy10, it sounds good, i agree i think it could be quite catchy as you point out. Hi milan1west, yeah i think that its a way to grab them, like making a connection and hopefully making them curious enough to click through. Thanks, a good tip regarding following up with a second question too.
I tend to include an ad variaton with a question 90% of the time. Even Ebay do it which says a lot....
All I can say is test - see if it works for you. I sometimes go down this line - then test it against another Ad but a different headline. The only difference in the headline is sometimes just the actual question mark. I have mixed results. Nothing conclusive.
I would test one line at a time. Once you get about 160 impression per ad you should have enough data to tell which is performing better.
test, test, test. all marketplaces/niches can behave very differently. If all your competitors are asking questions, I would deter from using it so much, but would definitely have a test copy in the mix.
