    I think you might be correct if I tried to resell rightaway, but if I waited 1-3 years, price could easily be doubled if the right customer comes through!

    First idea that springed in mind is to make something community driven, like yahoo answers or stackoverflow, can't think of a niche though etc.

    Would a forum for microsoft dot net developers work?

    The higher the revenue/month, the bigger the price you'll sell it with.

    A forum would be a great idea, but what about the technical issues with implementation and administration?
    Also how will I drive traffic to it?

    Thanks a lot. Thats the valuation I got from everyone so far. Around a 1000, but I would probably wait longer as this is not the price I am willing to let it go for :)

    Under $100 unlikely
    A few hundred probably
    $1000 possible if an end user has a good idea for it and comes to YOU
    a few thousand -- not likely but possible
    More than $5,000 -- a miracle
