Hello, I would like to ask for you help getting some ideas how to promote/marketing ShayRC website (www.shay-rc.com). ShayRC is the place where R/C (remote control) users can share their R/C Photos & Videos. There are several categories setup based on the kind of the photo. Users can maintain their own RC photo galleries either using the default categories or they can create their own categories. Currently there are more then 2,300 RC photos on the ShayRC website. So far the member's feedback has been great and the membership in FREE. Just recently I've launched a new release of ShayRC website including: - New refreshing design - New streaming video gallery section. - New forum based on the advanced vBulletin system so now site members can contact other RC gallery owners easily. Currently there are ~2000 unique visitors/per day most of them from SE. I am looking for creative ways to get more traffic since SE ranking is going well but slow. I will appreciate any kind of help. Thanks, Shay
Hi Shay, Since your website's theme is pretty "niche", I think you'd have great success by contacting Webmasters of related sites and asking them to either link to your site or for a link exchange. I'm guessing there aren't a lot of other R/C sites out there that focus on photos (though I could be wrong), and I think this could be a positive addition, via a link, on other R/C-themed sites. Best of luck. Sam
Well I am doing my best on this issue but its gain a small amount of traffic. I was looking for some online magazine that doing reviews for cool website. There isn't such website like ShayRC so I was thinking they might be interesting with it. I need some leads on this. Anyone ? Thanks, Shay
I'd write a Press Release and send it to Digg.com and reddit.com and other tech sites. boingboing.net is another one. The viewers to those sites are looking for cool new sites and tech news.
If you can't find any online magazines specific to RC, I'd suggest doing a Google search for "website reviews". It looks like there are quite a few generic online magazines that review websites, so that may provide you with some opportunities. HTH, Sam
If you are looking for link exchanges check out xmod sites. There are several big ones with a very nice member base considering they are for a particular brand of rc.
Hmm, if you got to 2000 Unique visitors a day in a fairly niche site like RC, what you are doing is probably working pretty well. You might be better off looking for better ways to make $$$ off your traffic.. Possibly starting a store with products for RC airplanes?
The RC community is much larger then having 2000 visitors/day. I would like to get to the point where I have at least 7000-10000 visitors/day. More then that, ShayRC is offering a free service that many of the rc community is looking for. I am trying to find a way to reach as many people as possible without to spend lots of $$$. I am working alone of the project and my time is limited. Right now I am not worried about making money from the website. That time will come Right now all of my efforts targeted to continue developing the website and getting more members on site. Any kind of help will be appreciate.
