I am a new affiliate at CJ and I can't understand their tracking code java script. It says <a href="http://www.yadayada.com/YUYUEYRUERYE" target="_top" onmouseover="window.status='http://www.website.com/AFF?gotoURL?http://www.website.com';return true;" onmouseout="window.status=' ';return true;"> text </a>. Why would the URL onmouseover include an AFF ? Since it's a mouse over I always point it to the affiliate website to hide my affiliate link. But CJ does not seem to hide it which confuse me of the purpose of using onmouseover javascript. Is it okay to modify the onmouseover to show the affilaite main website? The visitors will still be taken to the href= page anyway. Thanks
On the create link page you can select "hide tracking code;" the link will then display the main site on mouse over, rather than the weird tracking site. Now if anyone can figure out how to do the same for LinkShare that would be great
