For my sites it is usually less than 5% of search engine traffic. I am looking forward to trying out their new PPC program though.

For technical sites at least, ask jeeves traffic is so minimal as to be almost non-existant. I get more hits from MSN, and this is for a Linux-related site!

Why would you want to use AJ? I mean im sure they don't have that many advertisers, and in turn they can't pay well.. and also Jeeves said he was going to kill me.

my dad uses ASK. my site gets about 3 clicks a day from ask (out of 5000).

Their new PPC will be a joke too as you have to outbid yourself on google to show there. Their ads will only show if the CPC is more than what they expect to get from showing adwords. So are you willing to pay a premium to show there? not I...

I will sign up, if for nothing else to learn their system and see their market share in a few verticals.

everyone seems to forget that they give Google a cut of the revenues, so you may be able to buy their traffic a bit cheaper than direct from Google, plus even though they say it must be more expensive they may be willing to use internal ads at a slight discount to help build the network up.

they are part of a bigger company now so their share prices are not so heavily dependant upon quarterly results. they also recently announced they are going to show less ads on the SERPs, and recently colored the sponsored results, which should help set off that they are ads a bit better.

also they have other properties. if they start opening up inventory on sites like ticketmaster I bet more than a couple ticket brokers would want to buy in.

Ask Jeeves is mainly just for schools and university. If you are targeting on them then it is good. It has to be school related keywords.

It would be weird to see a Free Games ad on "Climate Changes"

The only reason school use it is cause they didn;t show stuff not related to what you search for. lol
