[Ask] Is traffic from stumble upon safe for adsense?

Discussion in 'AdSense' started by rsandz, Mar 23, 2009.

Some days ago my site have been approved by google.

The problem is, my site just contain free article from ezine-article. That definitely can't attract organic traffic. (Due to my bad english and poor health condition, I barely create my own articles now. I have no money to spend either, coz I still rely my expense to my parent.)

Later I knew that, if my sites can not give valid impression or valid click (2 month or more after account approved) google can ban me without notice. (adsense agreement - termination of the program section). So I plan to use free stumble upon as my first traffic source.

    1. Is that safe for my adsense account?

    2. If not, are there any ways I can get rid from that 2 month deadline?

    3. How about adsense revenue program in this forum?

I only need to avoid that 2 months deadline, then I have enough time to recover myself and learn to write good articles for my website.

    Thanks

Stumbleupon traffic NEVER CLICKS on ads and only way to monetize them is by CPM ads.
The only problem with stumble upon traffic is that you might get smart priced(low cost per click).

you can use digg.com or reddit.com for more traffic. You will get indirect search engine visitors through these sites. These visitors could click your ads(2 month deadline is now over, right?)

If you can't write articles, collect some interesting photos and start a photo gallery.(celebrity gallery can bring you 1000's of visitors per day from even the 1st week)

Adsense revenue sharing in this forum is NOT THAT GOOD unless you have more than 7k posts.

    Thanks

there's nothing wrong submitting your site/page to stumble. while it wil bring you traffic, they will never convert and will have high bounce rate

that's the whole point of submitting to social networking sites, to get traffic. As long as its legit, i don't see why you have anything to worry about.

When it comes to building traffic, search engine traffic is considered good because of the highly targeted nature. Traffic from social bookmarking sites like stumbleupon are not at all effective from the conversion point of view. Concentrate more on getting quality traffic from SE by relying more on contents and seo...

Stumble Upon traffic is bad, not interested in clicking (=poor CTR, which allows poor ads to sneak into your site), and even if they click, they don't buy/convert (=disappointed advertisers, result: advertisers stop advertising on your site).

I rather have 1,000 visitors genuinely interested of the site, than 100,000 randomly surfing visitors.

As has been stated above, stumbleupon, digg, etc. traffic is poor quality traffic for adsense. Now don't worry about your english. Use stumble, digg, etc. and get those backlinks BEFORE putting adsense on your website. After the initial traffic dies down, put adsense up and look for relevant forums and blogs and post comments with the appropriate link text. Don't spam as you'll be wasting your time and destroying your reputation. You will get enough clicks to keep your account and the traffic will be of a higher quality. Then go to google's external keyword tool and enable the cpc column and add articles/pages with the higher paying keywords. Also look for very low competition phrases to get the traffic flowing. Here's an example: weight loss blog -> lower volume keyword phrase that has better keywords in it: how to lose weight fast quick for beginners. Yes it's cumbersome, but getting ranked for that phrase will also get you noticed for lose weight fast or lose weight quick, etc. Get the idea? The days of throwing up a post over at stumble and getting a ton of traffic and cash are done (unless you capture a unique news story and very clever cpa ad campaign).

    To be very clear here:
TRAFFIC FROM SOCIAL BOOKMARKING SITES JUST DONT GENERATE CLICKS / SALES

They are good for generating backlinks and overall brand building or visibility of your websites.

My personal opinion but have seen it happening, the reason is simple
Traffic from social bookmarking sites comes from there because someone had left a link or wrote a review
Traffic from search engines come after typing in a specific keyword, which means someone is looking exactly for a particular type of service / product and you are exactly providing that, so they are really interested not only in your content but even in the related ads that is displayed

I guess what niche your in for stumbleupon at least 75% from my joke site traffic comes from there I am on my second month with adbrite making over a hundred. I started with stubleupon in novevember and was making about fifty dollars a month with adsense. When adsense smart priced me in january I smart priced them and added adbrite the months of november thru january I say 90% came from stumbleupon so they do click on ads and made me some dollars. I first released the joke site in october. My rage off visitors are about 10,000 a day

Don't be so sure that you can't attract organic traffic with free articles.
That not true. You can and what you have to do is focus on Seo.

Stumbleupon gives good amount of traffic, but most likely zero conversion. I guess most of stumbleupon visitors are blind to adsense.

No conversion with Stumble Upon traffic. They visit then they go without browsing the second page :(
