[Ask]Information On Whois Domain

    Hello DP members...

    I have to change certain information of my account for my domain in goDaddy, so I changed it. But when I do whois to my domain, the information showed in whois tools didn't change. They still showed the old information when I fill it for the first time. I have already changed the information in goDaddy, but why the whois domain tools didn't show new information I have just updated ?

    How long did you wait until checking the Whois lookup?
    If within minutes, or even hours (who knows, maybe days) it may not update that quickly. I'm not sure how long it actually takes, but I am sure its not instant.

    Also, where did you check the Whois information?
    Did you check a Whois outside of Godaddy? If so, then it will take more time to change. If within Godaddy, it might or might not change that quickly.

    So just wait a bit :)
    If all else fails and it's been awhile, contact Godaddy, to make sure they have the new info.

    Indeed it's not. Some people just don't know how to wait or expect all things
    to be instant.

    And dzland, no need to contact Go Daddy if their WHOIS shows the right info
    while 3rd parties like DomainTools' doesn't yet. The latter will update in their
    own good time, and nothing beats the registrar as the authoritative source.
