Do you want to edit the template completely or just make a few changes. I use the YooTheme and RocketTheme templates which are visually awesome!
I have a few tempates that I need to tweak but I'm having permission errors on the hosting server. Would Adobe Dreamweaver be the way to go for editting the files, or at least drag the ones that I want to edit and then modify the html code?
The most time i only change the colors and fonts in the css files and replace the original graphics with my own.
if you have little bit knowledge of php u can do easily........create a custom template which you want to convert in your joomla template.......by default it was a HTML psd....convert it in to index.php like by default index.html save as index.php and it depends i which u want to create joomla template 1.0 or 1.5 and lots of thing are thr but cant describe here ..just goggled it
