    Hello everyone.
As part of PhD program in Information Systems at McMaster University, I am carrying out a study to learn what factors are important for participating and purchasing from social commerce firms.
I will appreciate if you could participate in completing an online survey which may take 20 minutes.
Please go to the link below to learn more about my study and if you decide to participate please do the survey.

This study has been reviewed and cleared by the McMaster Research Ethics Board (MREB). The MREB protocol number associated with this survey is 2014 113.
You are free to complete this survey or not. If you have any concerns or questions about your rights as a participant or about the way the study is being conducted, please contact:
    McMaster Research Ethics Secretariat
    Telephone 1-(905) 525-9140 ext. 23142

    E-mail:

You might have some minor psychological concerns such as boredom, annoyance, or worry about negative responses being seen by others. However, you can be sure that all of your responses to the questions will be never shared with anyone other than the investigators. The survey might not take too much of your time. You can skip any question and you do not need to answer questions that you do not want to answer or that make you feel uncomfortable. And you can withdraw (stop taking part) at any time before submitting the survey. Thank you very much.

If you have any question, please feel free to contact me.

Sure that wasn't a promo for Open Sky? I'd never heard of it and I'd have thought Etsy would be a more internationally known and accepted example. Maybe it's because I'm not in Canada - that might be a question worth asking.

This was a tricky question. If I ask a question about a vendor I can be sure to get responses so would strongly agree. However, from experience, I would strongly disagree about counting on getting any response at all from the vendor and when I do it's often a canned answer to some other question because they haven't read mine properly. Let me know if you want concrete examples.

I just took the survey, but I am not sure that my answers will help. That's because while I use social media like linkedin and DP, I do not use FB or ever heard of Open Sky. You should really call this a Facebook/Open Sky survey as that seems to be your world when it comes to social media.
