the only thing I heard about it was: "Adobe Photoshop CS4 will include 64-Bit support, but for Windows only" http://www.macrumors.com/2008/04/03/adobe-photoshop-cs4-to-be-64-bit-for-windows-32-bit-for-mac/
You can read about the features (not much though) here: www .gizmodo.com/393137/photoshop-cs-4-will-use-your-graphics-card-to-run-at-light-speed-do-fancy-3d-tricks www .tgdaily.com/content/view/37611/140/ And here's a video: www .youtube.com/watch?v=L3ybu4YmdNE (remove spaces after www)
it's TONS faster than 32-bit!! I'm not sure if there is a direct correlation, if 64 bit is twice as fast as 32 bit but for instance, I have read that 64bit versions of Win XP runs circles around the std 32 bit version. 64bit SW&OS makes better use of dual core machines for one...faster CPU throughout and so forth. I bet 64bit video rendering >>> regular 32bit
Wow. I'm very very excited! Finally an application which will take advantage of my new light-fast computer When is the release date?
cs4 has expanded functionality between programs in the suite and many added 3D features along with the other odd new feature here and there. google it. .goatsmilktavern.com/blog/2008/09/ok-i-am-getting-excited-about-cs4-part-1-photoshop-cs4/
I just got CS4.... minus the 3d features i would just call it another attempt from adobe to make us broke haha.
Well... 64-bit is faster, 3D features allow you to "paint" on 3d objects. Also the smart stretching and a couple of other things. The layout is also redesigned, IMO it's more streamlined and better in CS4. I don't think it's worth the money though especially for the majority of people who wont really be using these features.
right, I was wondering whom the target market on this version would be. CS3 had a lot of great improvements for photographers...much more RAW control as well as a nifty B&W conversion tool. I don't think there was anything in particular in 4 that appealed to photographers though; of which I am.
