what about ask.com. Is this search engine is good. How effective in traffic if we get listed in it. Also how behind is ask.com from google, msn and yahoo

For me it is not worth much more than live/msn. But maybe someone else finds it useful for him.

Same here. I almost get no traffic from ask.com
I have tried their sponsored search before and the traffic does not convert. I paid a lot of $$$ for nothing.

I see a little organic search traffic from them, nothing major. I mostly use them for their sponsored PPC listings - I've gotten some decent conversions in some niches, but traffic volume is very low so they won't be replacing Adwords anytime soon.

I have seen many improvements here, and many people is getting tired of junk results and MFA sites returned by Google, MSN and Yahoo, so its traffic is also increasing.

I like using Ask.com its sometimes good also for us developers to use other search engines from time to time to find different websites under certain search terms that you wouldnt find on any other site like google, reason being you can be one step ahead and keep up to date with what new websites pop up for certain keywords that you wouldnt find on google.

i saw them advertising on adbrite agency so my theory is
"only those people advertise who dont have potential "
ask is useless i think only webmasters must be using it just for fun

One of my sites is #2 for my most important phrase and I get no more than 4 visitors a year.

My other site, same industry, just over one year old, is still not in their index despite 2 emails to customer service.
