Been seeing Ask.com more and more these days. They seem to have stepped up their advertising. Anyone have experience with them? G
Hello... They where doing some advertising on TV and also radio ads in the USA last year but soon after stopped there ads and havent heard from them again. (Same as Cuil) From a webmasters point of view they dont send hardly any traffic so they arent worth chasing around and as far as i know they are mostly for UK searchs so dont really know how good or effective they would be if i searched for something related to US or Canada or wherever. thx M1
They used to call themselves "Ask Jeeves" and were basically a UK company. They changed their name to "Ask" and tried to expand into the U.S. market by running lots of ads on American television. But they haven't had much success in the U.S. and may have wasted a lot of money on ads.
As far as i remember i never got any visitor out of Ask for the past two years, even though my sites are indexed and ranking in the top 10 for keywords with average to medium search volume per month on Google, Yahoo and MSN. It might be just me or even the niches am targeting but that's my own experience
I seem to get one or two hits a day from them. Never tried to build a position there and can't see it would be worth the effort.
they're simply not profitable for webmasters as they dont send traffic to us I got 1 visitor / month from ask on my 5000 total visitors
