In 2007, I got great conversion from my ask.com PPC advertising - 2.63% conversion. Some dramatically changed around February 2008, though. My conversion rate for 2008 is 0.36%. What did Ask.com change to have such a dramatic drop in conversion rates? While poking around, I found a blog post complaining of the same thing: http://www.portentinteractive.com/blog/ask-ppc-advertising-flails.htm Any ideas?
i have no ideas with any ppc the best i have ever managed to convert is 1 % 2.63 is higher then i have ever done a dramatic change like that probably has to do with there publisher network maybe they aren't scrutinizing them as well.
Were you getting enough traffic to make a statistically meaningful assessment? i.e. if you were getting 100 people a month and 2 people converted, and then the next month you only got 1 person to convert - your stats would indicate you had a drop of 50% - going from 2% to 1%. The reality is in that example, you don't have enough traffic in the first place to make a statistical observation to 2 decimal places.
maybe google might be the culprit. They were doing some experiment with ppc this past year... forgot what it was.
Oh, yes. Some months we got 10 sales or more from Ask, and the high conversion rate was maintained over many months.
i ve used only the top 3 for PPC ( Google , Yahoo, MSN ) ...but since you ve had sales from ask.com earlier the reason could be the economy....my PPc sales also hv drastically dropped
