I think I posted this on wrong section (pls mod feel free to mov this thread).

My friend of mine want to sell his website with revenue (steady) $120 every month, he want to sell it for $900.

The revenue is from popup and adsense..He haven't try hard to monetize his website yet (to busy working on day time job).

So my question is...is it worth it to spend $900 for website with revenue $120 month?

I would like to have opinion from expert people on bussiness, sale sites here....

    Thanks in advance

Dude...get it for cheaper! There's all this talk that sites should go for 8-12 months worth of revenue! Now if you do a bit of strenuous market research...you'll notice A LOT of sites end up selling for 3-5 months revenue!

So don't just jump at what people like to valuate at...go for the true "market value"...now there's a difference!

Offer him around $600...it's a fair price!

It's worth the price if the income really is steady and there's no reason to expect it to drop in the future, and if you can see a way to make the income grow over time.

Make sure you verify all the reports, logs before hand before proceeding with any site deals. And yes $900 for a site making $120 with little monetization effort is a good deal.

Having bought and sold a number of sites/domains, here are a few pointers...

    1. Is the traffic consistant every month
    2. Where is the traffic coming from (search engines?)
    3. How much is the site making every month (profit)
    4. How much is the webmaster spending to maintain the site (hosting etc)
    5. How much resources does the site require (your time, hosting, etc)
    6. How long has the site been running

When you identify each of these factors you can then establish whether the site has solid foundations or not. If you believe it is a good investment then pay up to 10x the monthly profit. For example, if the site is making $100 per month offer your friend $1,000. That is fair.

Just my thoughts based on my experience.

    Khalid.

what is the niche, how much money does he/she make from adsense, what traffic does he/she have,is it SE traffic?Based on those factors you should negotiate with him.Anyway $900 for a site earning $120/month is a good price ;)
