hi DP member, please answer my question

i have a blog with good backlink(1600 using backlinkwatch .com) and without www..
but when i check my backlink using checkpagerank. net, it shows that my blog is just have 4 backlinks.. what happen?

i ever read on someone's blog that we have to consistent to use www and without www in our blog..
for example if i have blog with www(with wp->general and set blog with www), i have to verified on google webmaster tool with www and consistent to building backlink with www, viceversa with without www..

The thing that I wanted to ask is, how google calculate the Page rank? is it affect with www and without www? is it the same or something different?

    thanks for your feedback :)

I don't believe it matters to google whether its www. or without the www.
it is the same thing anyway.

Post or PM a link and I will happily advise you on that. If you using wordpress but still have what are called "canonical" issues you are doing a few things wrong. I am in a bit of a rush but will be back fairly soon.

the question to ask is whether your site loads both with and without www? To resolve this you have to post www in CNAME record of your DNS.

Actually it does matter and Google does recognize them as separate URIs (Universal Resource Identifiers). Having both versions (or even the root and index.ext -- where ext is the file extension used, such as .html or .php) will cause canonicalization and duplicate content issues.

There is a way to fix it on Apache servers that will cover both versions, but as Nigel said, there are likely other issues that may be responsible for the problem.
