I have a real estate/ mortgage site that I am doing well on SEs. I want to increase my PR any help would be appreciated. site: www.877youkeep(dot)com
As long as your site is doing well in the search engines, I don't think it will make a big difference if the site has a pagerank of 5 or a pagerank of 6. Still, exchange/buy lots of related, quality links with pr if you want an increase. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=58 This is the link sales section down here where you can get quite a few links for your site. Remember that good quality ones won't come cheap, so you need some $ in hand. Moving up the pr ladder becomes difficult once you've crossed the half way mark
If your sole purpose is to gain PR, then go for link building getting quality theme based links for your website. If you are doing good in SE, then be careful not to disturb the site's variables lest you see drop in traffic/rankings.
also good advice. What should I do to maintain. Little bit of fresh content and many many more links?
I only had a PR6 one time in my life. It was with an informational website, and I got sitewide text ad links on the CBS affiliate in my city's website. (They were a 7 with 6s on most of their main subpages). I don't even know if that would do it nowadays with the link only being counted once, if the "ad" link even counted at all.
I built a site last year without spending a penny to get PR5. But it's very difficult these days without buying links to gain a higher PR. Think of SERPs first unless you are selling links.
All you need is the next BIG site idea, like youtube myspace and ebay have already done or you could settle for linking like crazy (Till you pull your own hair out at least)
I expect good traffic from SERPs because that directly reflects my ROI. But in the process of gaining high SERPs, your site naturally gets high PR often. So then I can expect to do well in link development as well.
