that are required for getting a high ranking and traffic to my site.
I am using Adsense, Amazon at this point...and Feedburner.

I have read quite a bit regarding keeping content updated with
    new pages daily.
But I want to realize some cash out of this at some point.

    Thanks, Vikki43

Well, as a new blogger, don't expect to REALLY make money like that for the first couple of months unless you're REALLY good at marketing. Because I keep preaching that you need lots of traffic before you really start making money.

But if you're looking for some quick cash, you can always sign up with paid review sites and get like $5-$10 here and there. Adsense won't help you too much if you have a smaller blog...

Honestly, I'm working on my post for the top 10 Paid Review Sites as we speak. It'll probably be on my blog, DatMoney.com on Saturday. I hope you get a chance to subscribe to my RSS Feeds.

But I guess to start off, maybe check out payperpost.com, sponsoredreviews.com, smorty.com... but some of these have requirements based on how long your blog has been around, your stats, backlinks, etc. Just a heads up...

Well what is a small blog, you mean by page number or traffic?
Getting traffic is a biggie from what I can read...although there so so many
ways suggested that it is confusing starting out.

I imagine advertising my blog is #1 in terms of getting traffic. There is the option of leaving comments on other blogs and forums that was suggested although that would seem to be time consuming and there is no guarantee that the person will reply back.

If there was one absolute need to do as a newbie to encourage traffic, what would you recommend?

It's a blog with not many pages and readers.

My blog is small but I do get a lot from search engines because I try to update it often but not daily. For all time, I have about 486 words per post and 18 posts per month
I have 672 words and 13 post in the last 30 days.

    You want to make money:
My advice is to start with a real domain name first. I did the mistake of using a subdomain and promoting it. In August, I moved to my current domain but I waisted 4-5 months of backlinks for the old blog name.

Adding Adsense and Amazon is fine but don't count on it at the beginning.

For traffic/rank(repeat of one of today's thread):
    Submit your posts to BloggingZoom
Submit your RSS to 45 sites
Submit you Blog to 1 Cool File

I would recommend getting a domain too. I just switched recently and found that it is definitely better than sticking to blogger. There are just too many restrictions there.

A small blog that doesn't get a lot of traffic. I have seen people who have tons of posts and they still manage about 10-20 visitors each day. If I had to pick ONE way for a newbie to get traffic is checking out DatMoney.com LOL... no seriously, I would write great content and submit it to various social media sites.

But advertising as a new blog will get you in a deep whole in the beginning. Usually you shouldn't BUY advertise until your blog is a few months old. Unless, you're extremely confident about your blog.

It can get overwhelming...keep checking out all the tips. My family hasn't seen me in days:)

But so far I have not paid anything for my blog or the ads. I had a domain name and my website was hosted but was paying $20.00 per month, cancelled that after 2 months. The support was very bad in addition to the costs. As you can see I am bumbling and stumbling along but determined.

The blog is not exactly what I have in mind but it helps me to learn as I go along. This entire forum is the best I have been at and I sure appreciate the patience.

$20.00 a month for hosting is pretty expensive. You can get good hosting for like $6-$8 a month. Just curious, who were you using?

There are various ways to get a head start on traffic, one of which is article writing. Perhaps you can write two or three relevant articles and then submit them to places like ezine articles

I can provide reliable hosting with great support for $6 per month. I will install Wordpress or whatever blog platform you would like to use.

    1. write great content
    2. write frequently
    3. get involved in the community
    4. promote your best posts thru social media
    5. have your own domain name otherwise all above will be wasted
