    Hey guys,

    yesterday we launched www.artition.com the social network for all artistst, art lovers, collectors and investors.

    In the interest of our common passion - art - we would like to introduce us to you as a totally new and adventurous social network “artition.com”. We want people, who have talents in any kind of artistic manner, to give them a chance of expressing and visualising them for free in a broad and consistent layout.

    Throughout a profile and own galleries they can get recognised by ratings, blogs, networks, groups, comments and other features. This network is for artists around the world, who want to present themselves, but don’t have the access points to this, either financially, personally or logistically.

    The main benefit of the Internet is to connect those talents around the world to develop an environment that experiences art new, when engaging and sharing it together. We provide them with upload functions for videos, pictures, literature and music to aim for big amount of good, qualitative art that is easy to handle, when searching, working or just enjoying with it.

    In future we would like to offer an archive of digitally saved art for every category on our servers that inspires the whole international art community in a contemporary context.

    Please take a look and send us your feedback.

    Kind Regards

    I like the site so far; nice job.

    I associate 'networking' with Artists perhaps communicating with other Artists relating to shared interests, activities, shows perhaps, etc. I understand that Artition provides a place for Artists to display their work. Are there also some networking features or focus that I am missing? I would suggest that each Artist might have an 'About the Artist' page with bio, show information, 'most important work' or similar. Also some sort of forum or ability for the Artists to communicate with each other in addition to the current ability to comment on displayed works would be a good way to encourage networking among Artists.

    Please consider adding a rights indicator/gadget with each displayed work. For example on Flickr they have an indicator on whether the Artist grants no rights, limited rights for reuse with attribution, etc.

    Thanks for your comments. Glad you like it.
    Do not hesitate to post further reviews.

    @bwnunnally:
    Every artist has a profile site where he can share his personal and professional information which also includes a blog.
    Furthermore every artist has the possibility to create groups which include forums.
    Thanks for the tip about the indicator/gadget!
