    Hello

I was asked to do a website for an artist, the temp link is

    http://tadams.freeownhost.com

I've just been learning a wee bit of CSS to design the site, any feedback would be greatfully appreciated.

    Cheers

I like how the gallery itself is presented the most, it looks really good.

As for the layout, it seems to do the job. The banner however, has a slightly jagged non-anti-aliased shape in it. You might want to smooth it out, just a little.

If you are using PS, there's a checkbox to antialias your text.

To me the homepage does not match with the gallery. I personally would like backgrounds the same. David's logo looks like it would go well with Gallery. Agree with David that logo on homepage does not look professional. Overall I like the feel of both home page and gallery but just do not think they fit together. I like a uniform feel to a site.

and why didn't u just use a mailform on the contact page? To make it tasteful, you could just launch the mt form when the user clicks on the letter image, which is really nice bTw.

how did you accomplish those cool transitions for the gallery? Is that flash? (I know this sounds stupid but IKN about flash apps)

    1. The main frame's size is jumping when menu links are clicked - make your main window the same height

    2. The logo is all jugged. Use font smoothing to make it look better (see the attached sample)

    3. I agree with Smyrl - the gallery just jumps at you with all its dark colors. It should somehow work with your home page.

    4. Your hosting company's toolbar doesn't add value to your site. If it's mandatory, find somebody else

The grey background seems a bit off to me and seems a bit too neutral. Try a background color that seamlessly blends in with the rest of the color pallete.

Also, I would suggest using a more elaborate (artsy) font for the navigation links and add some padding (because the links are too bunched up).

I would suggest Garamond, or even Times New Roman would look good.

    Hi guys

Thanks for the feedback, I forgot to mention all the issues you raised....

I do agree the gallery needs to be changed, I meant to do this at the weekend!!!! Its black from legacy as was gonna do the site in B&W.

At the moment the hosting company was a freebie to test on, I will move away from this because I dont like the adverts and they disabled the mail() function so couldnt use a contact form (and wasnt gonna stick one and use mailto as that is horrible!)

:) Anyway guys much appreciate the feedback and will have another wee tinker to improve it.

JD Thanks for the wee sample of the logo, much appreciated!!!

The gallery is flash yup, and its fully customisable and free flash gallery.
