Because a religious scientist has "faith" that there is a god. there is no evidence that he can present to prove it, So even he would admit that it's a faith. He wouldn't, However, Expect faith to be a part of his science. A religious scientist would keep his religion very far from his professional work.

You can see that in this video where ken miller, A catholic, proves, Beyond doubt, that humans share a common ancestor with the great apes. He didn't, Like most religious people do, ignore everything that contradicts his "beliefs" because he knows that evidence is far more valuable than faith. That's what scientists do.

You are so confused about Christianity, not sure who taught you what you believe....

To find that there are similarities between apes and man has nothing against believing in God, just like dinosaurs has nothing against the Bible. Sometime you may understand that science does not go against God. So far everything 'proven' in science has not hurt anyone's faith in God. Now to claim theories as fact may seem to affect the relationship between science and the belief in God, but back to facts, nothing has.

it goes way beyond similarities, Though i suspected from the beginning it may go over your head. it is concrete evidence that humans share a common ancestor with the great apes. Watch the video again. From the beginning they said "if we don't find the fused chromosomes in the human genome evolutions claim that we evolved from apes is out the window", They went looking and they found it.

Dude, every discussion you seem to be in on this forum is over your head, but anyways, I didn't watch the video. Why? cause everyone points to videos as proof, so now I watched part of it. Was it over my head? no. He actually explains things in very basic ways that even a Jr high student should be able to comprehend. Does it prove a theory of evolution or does it confirm your fact of evolution?

It proves that humans evolved from a common ancestor which we shared with the great apes. it proves it beyond a shadow of a doubt. Which by extension disproves creation.

By the way, A scientific "theory" isn't like a regular theory. A regular theory is speculation. In science a theory is a testable model that explains a set of results. You can read about the difference here as to not continue to make the same mistake. There is a big difference between what a scientific theory is and what you believe it to be.

The video was interesting, doesn't disprove design or prove evolution, nice powerpoint transition though. So the godless scientist should be able to flip an ape chromosome, fuse it and he would create a human or at least a primitive one correct?

No that wouldn't be correct, Though splitting the chromosome to create extra ones or fusing them to create fewer ones would have an effect. You only have to look at people with downs syndrome to see what kind of effect extra chromosomes have.

What the fused chromosome proves is that we are related to the other great apes via a shared ancestor, It does prove evolution. the fusion of the chromosome isn't the only thing that occurred to make us us and them them though.

It's like with retroviruses. They change DNA of the people/animals they effect, And that change in DNA get's passed on to every generation. We share retrovirus DNA with the great apes too. But we also have some unique retrovirus DNA. this proves that at some point there was a split from a common ancestor that lead on to create all types of great ape. Our common ancestor was infected with a retrovirus which caused a change in DNA, All great apes have this retro DNA, But there are also some retro DNA that we have that isn't shared by the great apes, This occurred as a result of an infection after we become a different species.
