I know for certain that links on articlesbase are nofollow but when I got on my webmaster's tools today there was an articlesbase backlink counted. Why?
I believe articlesbase uses nofollow (I might be wrong).. not sure how that came through.. It is also worth trying other article directories, like http://www.c10.ccand http://www.articleking.com/
Google bots follow links no matter what the "nf" attributes are set at. Google says that bots don't follow NF attributes w/in links - but they do. Studies have proved it...
You should use something like SEO Quake (available as an add on for both Chrome and Firefox) which will identify which links on a certain page are dofollow and nofollow.
I confirm that I also receive indexed backlinks from them. I didn't take the time to investigate the link path from their home page to articles, but it works.
I heard someone says no follow backlinks are also counted for seo performance. I don't know if it is true or not.
It doesn't give your site the page rank and link juice - but Google still shows it on WMT so U will know who is linking to you.
I'm sure you're right, that Articlesbase is nofollow. Try other sites, there are a lot that allow proper links.
I was always told that articlebase was a no follow but i've definately got some backlinks from them too?
It's always important to get links from Follow and No-Follow sources, this is more natural. Articlebase is a little of both, no-follow until you get to 10 articles and then you get follow links!
The links are no follow. However, google spiders will still show your backlinks. The links do not have any juice and are of no importance. It is just there for reference.
