WoW, this really a shocked news, as I'm also one of the members of this site... thanks for the info, I will never use it again as well...
Guys, If this could be of any help for your links building, post your IT articles on my site. I don't pretend to be a big article base, but I will grow, and certainly won't devoid you from your links! Check http://www.webrickco.com/article.php
Same here you can submit your articles at jpservicez-searcharticles.com. But on a serious note its better you read their TOS. There are other Articles Directories one can use.
This nofollow rule is bunch of crap and it should be terminated. In my article directory www.theegarage.com all links are seo friendly.
Not only articlebase, there are a number of directories out there that just use nofollow attribute to the links. Also, some of these directories even change the link URL to point to the article itself, with no link out to us. I think I reviewed about one or two of them somewhere. Such article directories should perish and nobody should upload content to them. Why should we give them valuable content and they enjoy all the benefits without anyting for us? Maybe someone will review some of these article directories.
Best way to find out if links are follow or no-follow is with the SEO toolbar for Firefox.. Instantly shows which links carry any juice for you.
I was shocked to hear that articlesbase is nofollow. They have very good service and approve articles within a day mostly. I have many articles published there. But not a single more now. I currently use only ezinearticles, articlesbase and articlerich. Now i will find a new couple of article directories. Thanks a lot for the information.
With so many article sites out there, it is a shame you'd be so worried about just one going nofollow.
we submit articles for gaining PR only. To get inbound links. Doesn't matter if we get traffic from submitted articles or not. nofollow sites a complete no no
here is nice articles directory, where you can submit your articles for quality backlinks: http://www.nicearticles.net
you don't have to be SEO or i don't know what kind of an expert to know what is nofollow... there are numerous tools and as easily accessible. I agree with Breakaway - it is essential to diversify, not only because of situations like this - when owners switch to nofollow, but also because of relevancy google gives to your site in case you get backlinks from different sites and not dozens or more links from one site only ... at least people say this way is better
Showing you guys an example of how Articlesbase is DoFollow. http://www.articlesbase.com/computers-articles/death-or-spam-866082.html Look for the author bio box: At Aaron Language Services (http://www.aaronlanguage.com), we provide translation, proofreading, and online English coaching for a primarily Japanese client base. If you are an editor, specializing in medicine or the hard sciences, we are always looking for experienced editors. Click on the menu at our top page where it says personnel, in English, for more information about the work and how to contact us. This is the source for that part of the site: <p>At Aaron Language Services (<A href="http://www.aaronlanguage.com/"><a target="_blank" href="http://www.aaronlanguage.com">http://www.aaronlanguage.com</a> Do you see rel="external nofollow" or rel="nofollow"? Nope.
Desilator - thanks for what you wrote - you are very correct. I have posted an explanation about the NoFollow attribute on ArticlesBase on another forum post: forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1310078#post11186938 (I am Community Product Manager at ArticlesBase)
