    Hi,

I have a question about articles because i've readed alot of good things.

If you publish a story on several article directories do you first post the article on your own site or is this a bad idea ?

I have some affiliate related websites and i want to add every month some unique articles.

I always think it's a good idea to publish on your own site first - that way there's less confusion over the origin (and ownership) of the article in question. Make sure you fill your articles with a few relevant links to your sites before submitting.

It’s better to have it hosted on your site. Reason 1, Apart from submitting to ezines you can post the url on other book marking sites like digg.com

    1. Post it on you own site first
    2. WAIT till search engines index the article on your site
    3. Then submit to article directories

If you put the same content, word for word, on your site, you may incur dup content penalty.

No thats not true, even if it is indexed on your site first. Just distribute a different article than the one on your site.

Ok thanks. Well someone is writing articles for me. I will publish some on my site and different ones on ezines.

I don't want to be banned from google for duplication.

    Hm.

Well when I finish a new article I always post it on my blog first. Then I ping my blog so the spiders first see the new article on my blog. Then after about 24 hours I take the article and modify it, change some things, etc. etc. before I submit it to the directories.

When I first post the article on my blog, it is more of the rough draft version. I can include things I can't include on directories, and other things like that.
