How many links do you get back when you write an article and submit it to all the article sites?

Some time ago (about 2 years) I wrote a few articles and submited them to all the sites that I found but didn't get a lot of link backs for them.

I will like to know how many back links can I get if I write articles on this days.

It really depends on both the quality of the article and the subject matter. I have received in the neighborhood of 100 links for SEO Related articles that I put a lot of time into.

On the flip side I have submitted a lot of "niche" articles that recieved probably less than 10 links.

The niche articles, however, tend to convert pretty well so they also have their value.

like stated above, i have some articles that have been used by a few sites and some that have not, depends on the audience your targetting with the article and how good the article content is.

Thanks, that's what I wanted to know. I think that 100 links is pretty good for an article. I remember that I got around 10-20 for the ones that I wrote.

If you write an analysis article on Google after a major algo change, for instance, you get a lot more links then if you write about Keyword Density.

Its all about writing something new and fresh and that people want to put on their sites

I write about writing and submitting articles and I tend to get several hundred links back to my site with each article. One of my clients gave me an article about finding your target audience and three days after I started submission Google reported the article was used over 900 times. It really depends on the topic and quality of the article. You'll have better luck if you use a professional proofreader or editor to make sure the article is perfect.

It's about topic and quality of articles. On average, I'll get about 100 links for one article in 3-6 months. I submit only to 5 top article sites.

Back in the days about 5 years ago I would do wrestling websites and report on them, I got 500 uniques on a good day but nowa days I know people getting up to 700-1000 so I guess it just depends on where you post your link at.

Like yfs1's said it depend on many factors

    where you submit initially
    subject
    quality

When i owned web-rover.com i wrote about 10 articles related to dogs and the site is still getting backlinks from those articles.

Graet source of backlinks in my opinion.
