Articles indexed, but not ranking for title

    Hi,

I've noticed a problem lately with my blog. All my articles get indexed a few minutes after they get published, though they don't rank for the titles anymore. Instead, the index, tag page, category page, author page rank for that title. This has been happening since yesterday and had happened about a month ago too.

Earlier in the morning, the tags were ranking for all the article titles, then I put a nofollow on them and then the index, category or other page was ranking. After that, I only put an excerpt of the articles on all pages, but the article wasn't ranking either.

Also if I do a search for a quoted phrase from the article, there's always other page that ranks higher. Sometimes splogs rank higher than my website for content they copied.

Also I have to say that my old keywords and articles haven't been affected at all.

Sounds like your domain/site has a penalty.

Are those who outranks you have the same Title?
If that's the case, you are probably being penalized for duplicate content.

I was expecting some professional answers. I am talking about a trusted blog with over 30,000 visits/ day from Google alone. I have a lot of good backlinks, 100% unique content, though the spam blogs that copy my content get higher ranking and I can't find my articles at all, not even on the 100th page.

P.S. I am only talking about the new article, because the old ones rank great.

you told that Your old are article got good ranking in SERP's right...? but new one is not getting ranking this means your old article links l have good back link support but new one have lower then that so the best solutions for that is just create more back link and make link juice for particular keyword...

    You have to either:

    1. Get lucky and outrank older articles by the good grace of google
    2. Build backlinks and overpower your competition

I don't think it's a penalty. I've seen dozens of people complaining about it and it seems they've done nothing against the guidelines.

Not sure which system you are using but with wordpress you can install the seo all in one to add noindex tag to the category, tag, author and archive pages, thus only allowing google to index the single blog post page.

Similar to the google webmaster forum's if you can give a link people can have look over it.

I am using wordpress, but it's not a duplicate content issues. The categories, tags, author and archives only have a small excerpt of the article.
