    Hi,
One of my friend told me that you should write articles for publicity of your website. I asked him why? he was unable to convince me.

How much does it helps and how it should be done?

    Thanks in advance.

There are several ways to do this. You could write for various free article sites like ezinearticles.com or others. You could also contact blogs you like and ask to be a featured or guest blogger. As far as how much it helps, it's hard to tell. The theory is that you get some traffic, as well as links back to your site from the free article sites, as well as anyone else who picks up your content. The drawback is, once you've posted content to an article site, using that content on your site isn't valuable becuase it wouldn't be unique and hence wouldn't get picked up by the search engines.
