    Hi Guys,

I've been on the backlink rampage on about 20 of my blogs and sites recently.

I've used a cross spread of techniques to establish the sites ranging from directory submissions, pinging, article submissions, Blog posting.

I have found that I am getting limited to no link backs recognized from my Article submissions to article repositories, which is kinda weird. The blog posts are up within days, and the directories within a month or so. it's about a month or two since I submitted a few articles but see nothing as yet.

I've read various posts about Google in particualr giving limited or no value to articles sites anymore, I was wondering what your experiences are of this technique. i.e has it been thrashed to death?

I submit 1-2 articles per week and system works good. I think this is one of the best ways to get a lot of backlinks. You must put your links in Bio`s section. If you want to put backlinks in the body of article PM me your mail to invite you in one system.

to avoid dupe, you need to rewrite them.

    Hey Dudes,

Thanks for the replies, really appreciate it. I've written the articles from scratch myself, however are you saying that the article should vary in each repository? i.e If you have the same article in each of the repositories does this flag as dupe and will subsequently be penalised?

I used one of the article directory submissions services on here which was great but he submitted the same article to about 150 article sites. The anchor links vary in the resource box, but the content of the article is the same.

    Regards

    Chunks

Don't worry about this. Its the repositories that will have the duplicate content...not your site.

Remember, you're writing articles for links, not to build content.

I do article marketing just to try and get traffic, it doesn't get much, but sometimes I get an article on a good traffic site. I don't think about PR or backlinks when doing it, I'm just after the traffic, but the backlinks just like to follow. lol

Article marketing is still worthwhile and does work. The downer is that I had someone that submitted around 500 articles to my directory in the past when it was in its prime time and is no more. I looked how that site was doing and found that they had submitted around 5,000 articles to some other directories like goarticles, ezinearticles, etc. Their alexa rank was just over 250,000 and it was a financial site. I thought after see that, they couldn't been having that much success from 5,000 articles which is a lot.

But then the financial niche is very competitive so that could be why and the site were not the best that they had. It works for me anyway and some others on here. Although saying that, I don't do many as it takes quite a bit of time.

-link exchange I don't think is so good ,google look at this
-submit to directors , up to 500 directors (for basic PR 4), after 500 I don't know if is worth the time
-forums : good for indexing and for the begining but after that you get many links from the same site
-social bookmarks, some of them use nofolow and to get top is hard , to get links from diggers and general good for sites with news, gadgets;you can't always bookmark or submit only your site because can be banned
-link in blogs nofolow or are moderate

    What else?

    I agree xandroz,

I've mainly concentrated on the traditional methods and sort of missed the boat on article submission, I think it's because i've moved into new areas and noticed the benefits more from articles.

Certainly from my experience lately submission of articles to Blogs has been massively fast and beneficial, there are a few members here that have established substantial PR 3-5 blog networks that get ranked well.

I recently set up a site and linked it directly to my PR4 and 2X PR3 sites and it was listed on page 2 of google within 2 days but this appears random, I think it's related to the amount of sites fighting for your niche.

I'll continue with the articles for the time being and let you know how I get on. It's great to hear that some are still having success with this method.

Amnezia Spread the word dude lol

    what I think is dead:

    directory submissions
why? Because I can't see my backlinks from directories using 2-3 backlink checkers tools..

    forum posts:
It still counted as backlinks but I don't think it helped my SERPs, maybe google counted them as junk back links...

article submission is not dead, still better than link exchanges

Just because you can see backlinks from article submission doesn't mean its helping your site in anyway.

All that happens to your articles is that they get copied by loads of scraper sites and loads of duplicate content is produced. The duplicate pages get dumped in googles supplement index. So now all you have is a ton of links from pages in the supplemental index. If google doesn't deem these pages good enough for their main index i hardly think the links from them are gonna count for much.

Forums are better for direct traffic rather than the serps. Although I just post as I like to learn new stuff and help out others.
