Question: how much do you think webmasters would pay per month for access to unlimited content articles that do not require a link back to another site? The site would update with new articles on a regular basis. Any and all articles could be used as long as the monthly subscription is paid. If a publisher wants an exclusive on a specific article, he could pay a one-time fee to have exclusive use of it. I'm a writer and am looking for a way to sell my content without having to pimp it out article by article and thought this might be a convenient way both for me and for webmasters who need content.
Link or no link, content that isn't unique isn't worth a whole lot. There is so much free content out there that people will be hesitant to pay. You will do better to persue writing unique content as there will always be a market.
The problem is that webmasters are only willing to pay $5 per unique article and writers shouldn't have to give away content for such a low rate. I'm trying to find a way to satisfy both parties. Writers are completely undervalued and they are expected to give their stuff away for free all the time. I guess you're right, though - if they can get it for free, they'll never pay for it.
$5 is for the bare minimum of quality. There are a lot of people that routinely pay $50-$100 for articles. It all depends on your writing.
Hmm, interesting idea. Something like 50 articles for $100? Maybe people could choose from topic packages. 50 health articles for $100... 50 ecommerce articles for $100, etc. I could allow publishers to alter the content any way they see fit in order to customize and make it unique?
Chiara, I think a package of articles is a great idea. But as it's been mentioned in previous posts, content that's not unique is useless. Giving the option for buyers to modify the articles any way they wish is one solution. I'm not so sure how many webmasters are willing to edit hundreds of articles to make them unique though. PM me a url with samples if you have articles ready to go, I may be interested.
I dont see how it is useless.... I have tons of free aritcles / non-unique on pages helping pull in traffic from SERPS.
Nothing wrong with having non-unique articles on your site in terms of content. However, most of the SE's implement some sort of duplicate content filter which excludes your listing from the SERPS. It's just a matter of time before it dissappears or gets devaluated. Otherwise they'd have thousands of results for the same exact article, clogging up the SERPs.
Complete nonsense...I have 100's of articles on my sites that have been indexed and ranked for over two years despite not being unique as do a ton of other sites. Unique content is always preffered for a variety of reasons but if you are half smart about your navigation, the way you display articles and the type you use, you won't see a single page deindexed.
But the problem is once you sell it over and over its not unique any more, then like yfs1 said... its not worth much then.
