Articles and Ad Revenue Sharing?

Okay, I had an idea this morning for one of my sites. Is this something that would be of interest to those of you that write unique and quality articles?

I have a site that I write some tutorials on, but I don't have time to write endlessly and fill it up with content. I am also not willing to download the same old tired articles that have been submitted to every article publisher on the planet though.

Basically, my idea is to carve off niches (topic categories) and give them to a prolific writer. This person would develop whatever content they wanted, articles basically, with each article containing their own keywords, links, no add zones though, whatever they want as long as it is unique and of high quality, a well as an "about the author" portion at the end of each one.

As well as that, it would be easy to do a 50-50 adsense revenue share on the entire carved off niche in the event that it started to draw traffic. The site is a bit basic and needs work, but it is in good enough shape to give you an idea of what I'm thinking... see www.topicguru.net if you are interested.

    Comments? Feedback? Thanks.

What you are describing is a site like about.com.

Not sure how many people will create a lot of content for your site with only a 50-50 revenue sharing model (I would think that they would go at and create their own niche site and get 100% of the revenues)

Ditto what NicheValue has said. I'd be interested in writing for anyone about sport (football/soccer mainly) but for 50/50, I'd rather put the work in myself and take all of the profits.

Well, that's kind of why I'm asking.... :D

However, maybe the ability to write an article and link to their own various sites, or to sell some permanent SEO friendly links in these articles, or to use affiliate links might entice someone?

You know, sometimes an offsite review or comparison can seem a bit more authoratative than your own promotional material?

Heck, I could always boost the percentage of ad displays if that was really the only issue that held people back.

    I'm flexible! :)

The only thing I won't bend on is the ability to ensure quality (and hopefully unique) content.

Regardless of what you do to promote your site I honestly believe, although I'm a n00b, that the way to guarantee success for any site is quality content. Once you have the core of what could be, you'll get people interested and then it's a case of capitalising on a start and jumping on people and then working 24/7 to make sure it carries on the upwards trend.

So from my limited knowledge of the web, I'd say that you're already onto a winner with the very idea of refusing to follow a trend and do what everyone else is doing. It's just a case of ironing things out but there's nothing wrong with trying to bag as much for yourself as you can ;)

Find people who are good writers, but not much into computers... Those people will appreciate 50% revenue sharing.

I myself hope to have a website like that.

Hmm, where do such people hide? Im thinking maybe to hit up on bloggers who do more than make snarky remarks (some bloggers don't write that much of their own stuff) about other peoples articles?

I mean, everyone here is basically a computer whiz, setting up zillions of web sites, doing lots of SEO, buying and selling links, domains, sites, commercializing MySpace...

You should try to get Private label rights articles and use those for your site.. Most likely anyone willing to write the articles will have a site already or can create one to make 100% of their adsense profits.

Some of the Private label rights articles sites that I like (and use some)
Associate programs has an article on them and it's pretty good:

    www.associateprograms.com/PLR-articles.shtml

Hi Lindsey, thank you very much for the link. I'd never even heard of PLR and didn't know there was a ton of it existing out there already...

    I'm in heaven...

    Sure!

Make sure that when you look for them, that you find one that has a limited membership, it keeps the content fresh and limits the amount of people that have access ;)

    Cheers,

Revenue sharing for article writing is good. Grokodile I am actually writing articles for an ezine on basis of sharing reenue. PLR articles are good too, but if your articles are really unique and relates to popular niches, future will be very friendly. Already issue of duplicate content is in place with strong foundation.
