I`m not absolutely crazy about your overall layout design, the fact that your starting off small with minimal categories is very smart, there is too many people out there that go and make websites with a 100 different topics and and it never looks like they have any activity as it takes forever for people to actually fill those topics. I think the idea of classifieds is a risky business It`s not the more revenue generating thing to get into but atleast it`s not a very competitive idea. All the best with your website and good luck.
Great Robin! For the constructive criticism you just gave! I'm banking on SEO efforts. If you notice, the ads that were posted a couple of days ago are ranking now in Google, if not for highly targeted key phrases. I'll try working on the layout in free time. You take care!
it's very simple and it seams you already have a lot off traffic( 66.000 alexa ranking)! or...you had something else on this domain
Today, I included the user registration feature. I am totally not satisfied with the category table in the main page which is the only thing that irritates me. It looks very ordinary. I'll find ways to make it look better. On submitting an ad, you'll find many fields to fill up which is good for the searcher. This was done with the intent of keeping the spammers at bay!
I like the site, very minimalist. May be consider offer to copy classified ads from local paper for free? That would generate a lot of listings right away no?
I'm planning only serious posters. Local newspaper? I wouldn't do that because I do not have the manpower to key in data. I'll be contacting some job consultants and ask them to post on my site.
