Article writing help: what's the best word for freelancers working online?

Discussion in 'Copywriting' started by VictorC, Aug 2, 2010.

I am writing an article and I want to explain the benefits of hiring a freelance from abroad because quality is ok and price is great.

I am always using words like: off-shore workers, outsourcing freelancers and other general words.

But I need a word (or a few) to describe this kind of worker with low costs, specialized on IT and online business, writers, coders, etc.

How would you call this kind of profile?

Just to make sure I understand what you are asking here...You want writers who are trying to increase the overall quality of writing provided by writers and eliminate 3rd world pennies on the dollar pricing to help you to write an article touting "OK" writing from 3rd world providers with "great (pennies on the dollar) pricing"?

¿? I don't want anything, only help finding the proper words. Don't hijack my thread with weird things, please.

Anyway, I'll answer, the idea is to show the benefits of outsourcing and especially outsourcing off-shore.

    Victor:

If you are looking for "opportunities" on keywords that you can capitalize on, then get a Google AdWords account, even if you never intend on spending a penny, and use the awesome tools within it to get additional ideas, determine feasibility, and make more informed choices. Also, Google Insights is a great way to see what past, current and future trends are with specific search word queries.

    Good luck and safe surfing!

    Huh?

    lol Okaaaaaay.

Victor, the word you want to go with is "outsourcing." Then combine that word with the said country. Like, for example, "...outsourcing to India...."

Or, hell, "...outsourcing offshore for cheap, quality writers...." is good.

But, do you really need to use any kind of a term?

I think what YMC is saying, is that you are probably asking the wrong people about this. A bit like Asking Jamie Oliver if he can think of a great way to promote the healthy and nutritious food that Macdonalds produces

You are right, people with no business education. If someone can't understand how currency conversion makes outsourcing a fair practice... probably never would run a succesful business.

Thanks anyway for all your responses

American Wide Web or World Wide Web?

This Information Superhighway we all seem to enjoy, and exploit, is meant to lower borders, not raise them.

This is a webmaster help forum - for webmasters - not only those webmasters from a particular region, language, or background.

Webmasters from around the world come here for help, even those trying to undersell, underbid, and even undermine other webmasters from around the world.

Business is business - means balancing act of supply/demand/fund$

Shawn and DigitalPoint may be here in the good 'ole USA, but it is a world-wide, collaborative effort, not a US-only venture.

Do I like jobs, money, and more leaving our borders? Hell no! But I've no right to expect that others won't try to come here and sell their products and services just the same as I.

Do I want Victor to succeed in diluting language, SEO, prices, services ..... and more? Well, not really.

But is this the AWW or the WWW?

VictorC has every right to expect webmaster help in this forum as much as the next member.

If you don't like it .... move on, but there's no need to flame, defame, or diminish his efforts.

    Just my .02 ...

    Safe surfing!

Thanks brother and very well expressed. This is the first time I'm clicking on the `rep' button in this section. For quite some time, there have been unnecessary use of terms like `3rd world.' (I guess I have to find out how many `worlds' do we have on earth). But that expression might not be a mistake, since it was authored by someone from the 1st world. ;)

I am happy to attempt to be a voice of reason when the opportunity or necessity permits.

I was not defending or defaming one person, view or any combination thereof - just voicing my own personal opinion, and desire really - simply expressing a need and hope for more 'spatial' thinking when it comes to how we interact; especially in a "world-wide" webmaster forum.

While I am proud, patriotic and even proprietary on some particulars, I hope that my definition and understanding of "neighbor" is ever-evolving into an inclusive, not exclusive, manner and perception, allowing for more reception not deflection of others' views, needs, or desires.

Thank you for your kind words, parsibagan; I look forward to seeing your reception of other members as your tenure at DigitalPoint continues - and may it do so with helpful, happy, and lasting results now and into the future.

    Good Luck ~ Happy Surfing!

    To the OP:
How about "FweeWighter"? Oops, that's not quite right. How about "FreeWriter"? Sounds too much like people who will write for free or write for next to nothing which is the same as free?

Let me try again. How about "BountyWriter"? Rhymes with "Bounty Hunter". Sounds too much like people who will go hunting for you if they don't get paid as promised?

One last try. How about "LanceWriter"? It may sound absurd and nonsensical at first bite but then again how did Google sound when it was first introduced to netizens?

    Still not acceptable?

Too bad. Only three free tries allowed in every 24 hours. See you later. Maybe.

This Old Man A well worded response.

Rob: your response is very true. However exploitation is never fairness.
