Is it better to write articles about a niche or a specific product to get converting traffic? Thanks?
The best conversion is the most targeted one; be as specific as possible, its better to capture less visitors but more conversions than no conversions at all
Generally, I like to write articles about a niche and then include some information about the specific product in the article. Most times, the search volume isn't there for the name of the specific product, so you'll need to target the niche to get much traffic to your articles.
Keep in mind that people searching for the actual product name constitute what we call "laser targeted traffic". So they convert big time! Such keywords do have low results in google for allintitle searches but it is still difficult to rank higher for such keywords because people are making money off these and the top ones do spend money regularly to keep their top positions. In order to rank among top 5, you either need to be among the first ones for the product, have a nice budget or be extraordinarily smart to outrank the already top rankers.
I do both. It's very convenient sometimes to get niche-traffic rather than product-traffic because that way you can reduce the workload for promoting two or three products in the same niche. But as Jacky says above, keywords including the product name are much better targeted traffic and their conversion's therefore always likely to be higher.
